Closing thoughts

At $1500, it is difficult to justify the extra expense of the MP7 over cheaper SMGs. That said, it is strong in most categories, with good damage, accuracy, armour penetration and rate of fire.

One lesser known drawback is its relatively high penalty to movement speed, which will slow the wielder by 12%. For reference, the movement penalty of the MP5-SD is only 6% and the MP9 4%. Moving slower with a weapon type (SMG) that otherwise generally has an advantage when moving is an awkward combination.

With its cheap cost and high armour penetration the UMP-45 is a solid alternative to other cheap SMGs such as the MAC-10 or MP9 when facing armoured opponents.
