Closing thoughts
The AUG is a fantastic weapon, but at $3300 it is hard to justify compared to the defacto Counter-Terrorist rifle options. While it has much higher armour penetration, it is not always able to convert this - no Counter-Terrorist rifle can deal lethal damage through a helmet in one shot, so given that 2 shots are required this benefit can often seem meaningless. Furthermore, the AUG also has a reload time of 3.8 seconds - far slower than all other rifles.
However, the weapon is armed with a scope, which can make defending certain angles on a bomb site easy.
The FAMAS is the Counter-Terrorist budget rifle option. It gives you everything you would expect from a rifle but does not excel at any of it.
In practice, players also tend to perform poorly with it unless they are experienced as its recoil pattern is trickier than many other weapons.
The FAMAS does have a more burst mode which will fire 3 rounds in succession. This mode is more accurate, but the gaps between bursts reduces the overall rate of fire significantly which results in reduced damage per second and less flexibility.
